Toshiba releases new Canvio portable storage line-up with new applications and designs

Adding new Canvio Flex and Canvio Gaming models along with new colours and textures for Canvio Advance and Canvio Ready.

Düsseldorf, Germany, 01 September 2020 – Toshiba Electronics Europe GmbH (TEE) announces the introduction of two new Specialty models to TEE’s Canvio portable storage line-up, alongside its well-known product categories Standard, Advanced and Premium. The Specialty models Canvio Flex and Canvio Gaming address specific external storage requirements such as gaming and cross-platform deployment.

Canvio Flex is the new USB-C portable hard drive designed for Windows PCs, Mac computers, iPad Pro and other tablet devices for cross-platform compatibility[1]. Canvio Gaming is the new portable game storage drive designed for game consoles and gaming PCs. These two new models allow gamers and multi-platform users respectively to expand storage seamlessly and across various devices. They can take their favourite content on the go in a sleek, portable design.

In addition, the Canvio Advance and Canvio Ready series both boast a new distinctive design while offering portability and reliable storage that is easy to access. This next generation of Canvio designs delivers seamless portability, high storage capacity and broad compatibility for various USB devices.

The new Toshiba Canvio models deliver storage solutions for a wide range of consumers and use cases:

  • Canvio Flex – The Canvio Flex portable hard drive features up to 4TB[2] of storage, offering both USB-C and USB-A cables, that enable users to seamlessly store and access their data on multiple devices including Mac computers, Windows PCs, iPad Pro and other supported tablet devices, [2] interchangeably with a simple one-stop solution.
  • Canvio Gaming – With the Canvio Gaming portable hard drive, users will be able to expand their game library easier than ever before with the ability to carry up to 100 games[3] (4TB) in a stylish portable case designed for popular game consoles and PC game systems. The Canvio Gaming features a firmware-customized “Always-On” mode to support responsive gameplay.
  • Canvio Advance – The Canvio Advance portable hard drive features a new unique textured design with new colours. With the included auto backup, and data security software, this portable drive helps content creators and photographers to protect their data on the go.
  • Canvio Ready – The Canvio Ready, portable hard drive – now featuring a new two-tone design – is a storage solution for entry-level users who want simple data back-up. This portable hard disk offers USB plug & play, file drag & drop, and simple storage expansion for Windows PC.

The new Canvio models will be available at major retailers in the autumn of 2020.
